Welcome to the Connecticut Geriatric Education Consortium
The mission of the Connecticut Geriatric Education Consortium (CTGEC) is to be a collaborative resource for geriatric and gerontological education to improve the quality and availability of health care for all older persons in Connecticut, especially medically-underserved and minorities. CTGEC accomplishes this mission by acting as a statewide consortium of academic and community partners, developing interdisciplinary training opportunities for health care professionals, and disseminating information about statewide needs and geriatric educational resources.
The CTGEC works closely with service agencies, non-profit organizations, and community members with an interest in the health care needs of older adults.
The CTGEC is supported by the Rhode Island Geriatric Education Center (RIGEC), which, in turn, is funded in part by a grant from the Bureau of Health Professions, Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
